You are welcome to submit your scientific work or case report for the ECC Main Congress or the 6th International Pilonidal Conference. Win your ECC poster & case report prize and apply for the Springer award for young surgeons.

All accepted posters (scientific work & case reports for ECC Main Congress & International Pilonidal Conference) will be published in European Surgery, which you will find in printed version during the ECC. With your submission you agree to the publication. Find online publications from 2025 here.

Poster Session

The Poster Session will be held during the ECC Main Congress on Tuesday, the 1st of December, 2026.

All accepted abstracts will apply for the ECC Poster Awards. Accepted abstracts with presenting first authors below 40 years will apply for the Springer Award.

The Poster Award Session will take place on Tuesday afternoon. The winners of the ECC and Springer Awards will be rewarded and give a short talk on the main stage.

POSTERS FOR INTERNATIONAL PILONIDAL CONFERENCE

The best abstracts will be selected and considered for oral presentation on Sunday, 29th of November, during the International Pilonidal Conference. Onsite registration is also necessary for the presenting author.

Furthermore, all accepted posters for the International Pilodinal Conference will also be published in European Surgery and can be presented during the Poster Session and take part in the Poster Award Session of the ECC Main Congress on Tuesday, 1st of December. Be aware, presenting authors have to register for the ECC main congress as well, in case they want to present their work at ECC additionally. Submission Rules

  • Abstract length must not exceed 500 words, including the
    headers Title, Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusion. The title shall be
    written in upper case. The authors and affiliations do not count towards this limit.
  • Submission of an abstract requires a paid registration of the first author.
  • Two abstracts may be submitted per first author.
  • Abstract can only be submitted via this website in clear English with spelling and
    grammar suitable for publication. Once received, a confirmation will be sent to the
    submitting author.
  • The submitting author is responsible for the content of the abstract and the consent
    to submit on behalf of all co-authors.
  • If a clinical trial is presented, its registration number must be included.
  • All presenting authors have to be registered onsite, take profit from early bird registration and combined mastertickets.
  • Abstract submission deadline is September 26th, 2026.

    Rolling reviewing will enable early decision of acceptance of your submitted abstracts.

Declaration of Consent to Publication

  • Submission of an abstract to the European Colorectal Congress (ECC) constitutes
    consent to publication exactly as submitted in any media (electronic, print,
    webcast/podcast, social media, other promotion).
  • Submission of an abstract grant the Organizers of the ECC and European Surgery a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, publish, translate, distribute and display the content of the abstract.
  • Submission of an abstract constitutes a declaration by the submitting author that all
    authors have been informed and agreed on the present rules and that the authors
    are the sole owner or have the rights of all the information and content. In particular,
    the authors declare that publication of the abstract does not infringe any third-party
    rights including, but not limited to, intellectual property rights.
  • The submitting authors is responsible for informing the other authors about the rules
    of submission and about the status of the abstract
  • The Organizers reserve the right to remove any presentation and publication
    an abstract that does not comply with the rules of submission.
